9/23/10 Little Picassos!

We found some ceramic bobble heads on clearance at Joann's today ($1 each!) and brought them home from some fun! Luke is painting a lion while Will is painting a monster.

Sean wants to know what's going on and why he's not part of it!
I wanted to take a picture of Luke with his finished Lion but he said:
"NO Momma! No more pictures right now!"

"I said NO MORE PICTURES!"
Will's finished monster. How happy is this kid?!
Painting their "drop cloth". Again Sean wants to know what's going on.

9-17-10 Fun with Shapes!

Today we talked more about the letter M by coloring some M words like Monkey, Moose, Mail, etc. We also finished our shape cutouts that we started working on yesterday! I've been looking for creative ways to teach Luke thru fun. He's not big on sitting still and being 'taught'. A friend of mine told me about a game she plays with her daughter. She said that she would take different colored construction paper and set them out on the floor. Next she would call out a color and have her daughter jump to the color she called out. I loved the idea and knew that Luke would too. I decided to expand on her idea and cut out three sizes of each shape. Now we can work on shapes, colors, matches and sizes! He LOVES it! Extra bonus is that they found that they can build things with the shapes as well! It's super cute to sit here listening to Will helping Luke learn by playing with him!
PS - Yes, we still have pjs on in the pics! What can I say, we are a comfy kind of family! ;)

9-16-10 M is for Monster!

We've been having fun with our learning! We focused on the letter M for Luke today and made his favorite thing....MONSTERS! He even started using his own scissors! His Aunt Jill suggested these awesome spring scissors that open on their own so all he has to do is concentrate on squeezing them shut. Will enjoyed this craft as well...the boy loves art! Since Sean's still just a wee bit small for crafts like this he did a "Things that move!" puzzle (again, thanks Aunt Jill!).
